Judging By The Laughter

How can you judge a team’s success and value to its fans?

By the amount of laughter you get, or not, when you ask if anybody wants to go in on season tickets.

I have a lot of problems with this email.  (you can see the whole thing by clicking this link) But I will name only two for this post.

First of all:  What Wait List!

You claim all these years that the list is thousands upon thousands of names long , yet when you remove seats for “party decks” and HD Megatron Boards; in theory making the wait longer, suddenly everyone is getting offers for cherished season tickets!  Please, stop insulting us.

Secondly:  Please stop talking about tradition!

Darrell Green had an excellent comment, ironically enough, earlier this week regarding the Redskins and tradition.

You can read about it here.

But the short version is that there is nobody from the past left in the redskin organization to pass that old Redskin tradition on to the next generation of players.

Hopefully, Mike and Bruce realize this, and work to build a new tradition by selecting professional players of character (sounds like a movie doesn’t it) who will become the “old dogs” of the organization and not only develop, but also teach and pass on what it truly means to have a great Redskin Tradition.

Maybe then everyone will stop laughing and actually want all those great season tickets.

Hail Skins!

The Washington Redskins showing restraint during free agency like the Steelers have already announced…

“The Pittsburgh Steelers announced plans to follow a self-imposed salary cap in 2010 and won’t take advantage of the lack of a collective bargaining agreement to add more quality free agents than usual.”

If they did, this would be the first true test and measure of the new Allen and Shanahan era!
